8 Ogun lawmakers defect to PDP, SDP

Abeokuta - Eight members of the Ogun State House of Assembly on Tuesday announced their defection into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), reports Punch.

Five of the defecting lawmakers joined the PDP while the remaining three defected to SDP.

The defecting legislators were from the  All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) on the floor of the assembly.

Their defection letters were read on the floor of the assembly by the Speaker, Suraj Adekunbi, during the plenary session on Tuesday.

Joseph Adegbesan, Salmon Adeleke, John Obafemi, Remmy Hazzan and Obafemi Olowo-Oloja joined the PDP.

While Adegbesan, Adeleke and Obafemi dumped the PPN to join the PDP, Hazzan and Olowo-Oloja defected from the APC for the PDP.

Olufemi Allen-Taylor, Oludaisi Elemide and Elizabeth Anifowose defected from the APC to the SDP.
