Ibadan- Three ACN Governors, Babatunde Fashola of Lagos, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun and Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti have pledged support for Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State's urban renewal project.
The governors made promise on Saturday at a reception at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium Ibadan, to climax the chieftaincy titles conferred on the governor and his wife.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Odulana Odugade, conferred the title of ``Aare Atunluse'' and ``Yeye Aare Atunluse'' of Ibadan on Ajimobi and his wife.
The governors, who spoke separately, said that Ajimobi had restored the glory of Oyo State, adding that he had achieved the set goals of his administration in two years.
They said no governor before him had achieved half of what Ajimobi had accomplished in two years.
They said the new-look Iwo road interchange and other major streets in the metropolis were neat and beautiful.
The governors pledged to support him for a second term in office in 2015.
Earlier, Odugade said Ajimobi and his wife were conferred with the titles because of their commitment to the development of Ibadan.
Speaking through his son, Prof. Femi Lana, after administering the traditional titles, the Olubadan commended Ajimobi for improving the infrastructure in the state
He said the titles were to encourage him to do more, adding that the only way to deliver the dividend of democracy was through the provision of essential amenities.
NAN reports that dignitaries at the occasion include Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, governors, traditional rulers and politicians.
