Lagos- The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria, has described as ridiculous the Peoples Democratic Party’s demand on the EFCC to probe Gov. Babatunde Fashola's administration.
This is contained in a statement signed by Lagos state ACN Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe in Lagos on Monday.
Igbokwe said that the allegations by PDP to support its call for the probe were false.
``The PDP is raising wild hoaxes since it found out that it has no electoral value in Lagos,” he said.
ACN also debunked the allegation of insecurity in Lagos leveled against it by PDP, saying that Lagos remained the oasis of safety to Nigeria.
The party said that the Fashola-led administration had always stood out for competence and probity.
ACN stressed that Lagos State government ran its affairs in the most transparent manner as obtainable in Nigeria.
``The state projects pass through the most detailed scrutiny and the outcome is so transparent and has become a reference point,’’ Igbokwe said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Lagos State Chairman of PDP, Tunji Shelle on May 5 alleged that there was massive corruption in the Fashola-led government.
He called for the probe of the state government and also demanded that the government made public all its transactions.
