Lagos - The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Americas and Canada have welcomed President Muhammadu Buhari and his delegates to Washington.
Francis John, Coordinator APC USA International Secretariat, Kay Alabi, Chairman APC Canada, and Prof. Isa Odidi, Director General Buhari Diaspora Campaign Support Group Centre, expressed pleasure at joining all APC members in Diaspora in welcoming the entourage to White House and to America.
“We are very glad this visit is taking place, and call on delegates to take advantage of the opportunity presented by this trip to forge a mutually beneficial relationship between Nigeria and United States of America,” said Francis John, Coordinator of the APC USA International Secretariat.
“We also like to commend Mr. President and his handlers for making time available to meet with Diaspora Nigerians in the Americas and Canada despite his very busy schedule.
"To this end, we like to call on Nigerians who will be present at the Town Hall Meeting scheduled for Tuesday at the Embassy between 06.00 pm to 08.00 pm to show their support with decorum during the parley with Mr. President.”
John thanked President Barack Obama for inviting Buhari and hosting him at the Blair House, the official state guest house for the President of United States.
“We wish both Presidents a successful deliberation and look forward to President Barack Obama reciprocal visit to Nigeria in the near future.”

Meanwhile, APC USA reiterated to Buhari that Nigerians in Diaspora are highly skilled and patriotic citizens with dip roots and connections in the international communities where they reside with many holding citizenships in those communities.
“We call on Mr. President to tap from this pool of Nigerians the much needed talents for nation building which Mr. President has embarked on.
Nigerians in Diaspora are willing and able to offer spectacular services in all sectors of Nigerian economy,” said John.
“Mr. President many of these Nigerians have been your ardent supporters for over a decade, culminating into an indefatigable support during your successful Presidential electioneering campaign. These Nigerians are among the best fit for your government.”
John appealed to Buhari to provide the opportunity for Nigerians in the Diaspora to “do for Nigeria what Indians and Chinese in Diaspora did for their countries.”
“They helped to leap-frog their countries into industrial, technological, economical and social utopia.”
