Abuja - The People's Democratic Party, PDP lawmkers in the House of Representatives said that the All Progressive Congress APC, can only take over the leadership of the House if it gets the required majority, Premium Times reports.
The APC currently boasts of 175 members ahead of PDP’s 171 while Labour Party, Democratic Peoples Party, All Progressive Grand Alliance and Accord Party share the remaining seats.
The PDP lawmakers insisted that since the total number of members of the House is 360, the APC would need half of the total number to lay claims to the leadership of the House.
The APC lawmakers however rejected the analysis of the PDP lawmakers, saying the House also comprises of other parties aside the PDP.
