Abuja - Former Deputy Minority Whip of the House of
Representatives, Garba Datti Mohammed on Tuesday announced his rejection of
chairmanship of the House Committee on Solid Minerals offered to him by Speaker
Yakubu Dogara, reports New Telegraph.
Mohammed, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress
from Kaduna State said he was not consulted before being named Chairman of the
Datti served as deputy minority whip during the immediate
past House under former Speaker and now Sokoto State governor Aminu Waziri

Datti’s reaction left lawmakers in the chambers speechless.
The lawmaker after the rejection walked out of the chamber
presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Sulaimon Yussuff Lasun.
The Speaker is currently in Israel on Christian pilgrimage
The Speaker last Thursday named 94 standing and special
committees for the House.
