Lagos - The All Progressives Congress branch in the United States (APC USA) is confident the parent organisation in Nigeria will overcome the infighting that has rocked it in recent days.
“APC USA wishes to reiterate its confidence in this administration, irrespective of trivial issues that have brought about recent schisms within the party,” Francis John, International Coordinator of the APC USA International Secretariat, stated.
“We are confident that these issues will be resolved to the benefit of the party and Nigerian nation shortly.”
Divisions have beset the ruling party since the election of National Assembly leaders. The party’s Bukola Saraki was recently elected the new Senate president after the country's main political parties struck a power-sharing deal in the upper chamber.

Yakubu Dogara, also from the party, is the Speaker of the House of Assembly.
Meanwhile, APC USA reiterated calls to the government of President Muhammad Buhari to consider including Nigerians in Diaspora, particularly technocrats who had demonstrated extraordinary expertise, in the management of Ministries, Departments and Agencies and when necessary, in helping to resolve intra-party conflicts.
“Nigerians in Diaspora did not sit on the sidelines in the fight for President Buhari and APC victory and as such do not want to sit on the side lines in the governance of the country. Consequently we again call on President Muhammad Buhari and APC to engage Nigerians in Diaspora in the quest to "take our country back" that His Excellency has just began,” John said from the United States.
