Port Harcourt - The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has raised an alarm over plots to stop the appointment of the former governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi as a minister in the yet to be constituted Federal Executive Council (FEC), reports NewsDay.
The party alleged that some powerful forces in the state are ganging up against Amaechi to ensure that he does not get appointed into the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The party noted that the plot to stop Amaechi at all cost is being spearheaded by the Gov. Nyesom Wike

The party in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its chairman, Davies Ibiamu Ikanya stated that Gov. Wike has set up a committee to influence the Senate to reject Amaechi in case President Buhari nominates him as a Minister.
The party equally slammed those who have been sponsoring stories claiming that Amaechi was so shocked by his non-appointment as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) that he took off for London to get himself together.
