Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified the age controversy surrounding its newly elected National Youth Leader, Dasuki Jallo Waziri.
According to a statement signed by the party National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the newly elected youth leader was born in 1971, contrary to reports making him ten years older.
"We have been able to confirm that the APC Youth Leader-Elect Dasuki Jallo Waziri was actually born on the 13 April 1971 and that puts his age at 43 and not 49, 52 or 53 as is being falsely circulated,” Mohammed said.
He defended Waziri's appointment adding that the opposition party leadership would continue to listen to the voices of concern by the teeming youths.
“This is not to say a 43-year-old man is ideal to be our Youth Leader but simply to put the record straight, the party leadership continues to listen to the voices of concern by ouryouths.”
