Minna - The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate in the Niger East Senatorial By-election, David Umaru have gone to the National and House of Assembly Election Tribunal holding in Minna challenging the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr Shem Nuhu Zagbayi, reports ThisDay.

Umaru in the petition said scores ascribed to each of the candidates were not the true reflection of the candidates’ actual scores.
He noted that there were discrepancies in the collation of the results, which worked in favour of the PDP candidate
He urged the the tribunal to declare him the winner of the election having polled majority votes .
