Maiduguri - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as false, the claims by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the APC connived with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rig last Saturday’s Borno central senatorial bye-election, reports Today.
The party was reacting to claims by the PDP that INEC rigged the election in favour of the APC.

The APC noted that the allegation was made to blackmail INEC and cast doubts on the upcoming governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi States.
Ali Bukar Dalori, Borno State Chairman of the APC in a statement on Tuesday, said PDP as well as its candidate in the election, Kaka Bolori knew even before the elections that the PDP didn't stand any chance to win a senatorial seat in Borno State
He noted that this was the reason why no serious contender bought the PDP nomination form ahead of the election.
He stated that the protest by the PDP against the election was to create a false impression that the first INEC election under the APC led Presidency wasn’t free and fair.
