04 February 2014, 09:56

Yola - The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yola on Monday formally received former Vice President Atiku Abubakar into its fold.

Atiku reiterated that he joined APC with other politicians to bring the change Nigerians were yearning for.

“If you see me, Baba Mai Mangoro (Nyako) and other stakeholders you know change is coming to Nigeria,” Atiku said in Hausa.

The former vice president, who did not talk of his political ambition,  simply said people would hear from him whenever campaign commenced.

The APC Interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande and it National Leader, Sen. Bola Tinubu, lauded the people of Adamawa for their active support for the party.

They urged for mass participation in the forthcoming party membership registration exercise.

“Everybody must be registered. If you have problem during the exercise contact your supervisor,” Akande said.

Gov. Murtala Nyako, retired Brig.-Gen Buba Marwa, and Malam Nuhu Ribadu, who spoke at the ceremony, reiterated their commitment to continue to unite as stakeholders in the state in the interest of the party.

A former governor of Bayelsa, Timiprye Silva, said the people of South-South, were disappointed with the performance of PDP-led government and would join hands with APC for a change.

In his remarks, the Adamawa Interim Chairman of APC, Kobis Thimnu, thanked all those who play vital role in uniting supporters of the party in the state.

“I call on all our members and supporters to continue to unite and join hands as we pray to God to reward our effort with success,” Thimnu said.

The party’s Deputy National Chairman North, Alhaji Bello Masari, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, Chief Audu Ogbe, Danjuma Goje, among others attended the ceremony.
