APC governors donate to Nyanya victims

Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors' Forum has donated N100 million to the families of the victims of the Nyanya bombings.

According to the opposition party, the donation would assist the families that lost breadwinners in the tragedies.

Rochas Okorocha, Chairman of the APC Governors' Forum confirmed the donation.

He said the APC governors will also assist the Borno State government in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the schools that have been torched by terrorism.

Nyanya has suffered two bomb blasts in the space of a few weeks.

About 100 people were killed.

Meanwhile, Okorocha said Dr Ilyasu Ahmed of Bayero University was scheduled to deliver a keynote on “the Crisis in Nigeria's Education Sector” the second Progressive Governors' Forum lecture.

Dates were not given.

Rivers State Governor Rotimi Ameachi, Civil Society icon, Dr Jibo Ibrahim, and educationist, Dr Module Olateju, will also discuss the paper.
