APC is best option for Nigeria, says Nafuntua

23 August 2013, 15:20

Abuja - Alhaji Shehu Nafuntua, a chieftain of the newly-registered All Progressives Party (APC), said on Friday that the party was the best alternative to the ruling PDP.

Nafuntua told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the APC was ‘founded on the threshold of vision, patriotism, discipline and commitment’.

He expressed regret that the country's goodwill had been squandered and misruled for about 15 years and had forced Nigerians to lose confidence in democracy.

“If you look at the personalities behind the party, you will agree that they are great and patriotic citizens of Nigeria.”

“Also, consider the performance of our governors in their respective states.”

“I assure Nigerians that the country shall witness quality and positive changes if APC is elected in upcoming elections at all levels of governance,” the chieftain said.

According to him, the APC manifesto is a unique document and covenant with the Nigerian electorate.

The stalwart said that current national challenges and factors impeding national development had been captured by the manifesto.

He promised that issues of security, agriculture, education, social amenities, infrastructure, social welfare and rule of law, among others, would be addressed by the APC if given the mandate.

He, therefore, urged Nigerians to join the party and ensure its victory at all polls to better their lives.

Nafuntua was a former National Secretary of the erstwhile All People’s Liberation Party (APLP) and a chieftain of the defunct ANPP in Niger.

He was also the first Interim Chairman of former CPC in Niger and National Chairman of the CPC States Chairmen Forum.
