APC sets to elect new ward officials in Oyo

03 April 2014, 15:01

Ibadan - The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday said it would elect 9 126 officials during its congresses at ward level in Oyo State.

The congress would hold on Saturday, April 5, in all the wards in the state.

Akin Oke, the Interim Chairman of the party, said that the stage was set for the event.

"About 9 126 officials are expected to be elected during the congress slated for Saturday,” he said.

The party has slated April 5,12 and 23, for its congresses at ward, local government and state levels, respectively.

Oke, who assured of a peaceful congress, said the stage was set for the exercise.

"Going by the sensitisation exercise carried out among members on Wednesday, I think there will  be no problem holding the congress,” he said.

Dauda Kolawole, the Interim Publicity Secretary of the party, said each ward was expected to elect 26 officials to form its executive.
