18 August 2014, 16:25

Awka -  Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-East Zone have berated their counterparts from other parties, who are pushing for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

They are angry that  they are not promoting people from the zone for the position, reports Nigerian Pilot.

The APC leaders said  they were not opposed to President Goodluck Jonathan running for re-election in 2015, as he has the constitutional right to contest, but labelled the action of the leaders from the zone that endorses him as  subjecting Igbos to perpetual bondage and  beggarly status.

The leaders in a statement after the endorsement of President Jonathan as the Igbo candidate by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for 2015 at the rally organised by the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) in Awka, Anambra State on Saturday, said it was wrong for Ndigbo to put their eggs in one basket.
