Lagos - The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the embattled Chairman of the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tunji Shelle to resign for failing to secure victory for the PDP in the last governorship and presidential elections, reports Punch.
The party said Shelle should have resigned honourably, having lost the state governorship elections in 2011 and 2015.
In a statement on Monday, APC spokesman in the state Joe Igbokwe noted that Shelle was not telling his supporters the truth by blaming former President Goodluck Jonathan for the PDP’s defeat in the state.

The party accused Shelle of waiting until the PDP lost Lagos for him to tell the world that one man was responsible for the party’s loss at the poll.
The party asked Shelle, who it described as a serial loser, to leave the stage for fresh hands to manage the PDP.
Shelle had on Saturday said Jonathan contributed to the defeat of the governorship candidate of the PDP in the last election, Jimi Agbaje.
