Kaduna - The All Progressives Congress (APC) said on Thursday that it would conduct the party’s local government congress in Kaduna State on Saturday.
The state Interim Chairman of the party, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, told newsmen in Kaduna that all leaders and stakeholders, including aspirants for the position of state and local government chairmen, met on May 29 to adopt the date.
Baba-Ahmed called on the stakeholders to close ranks and ensure that the May 31 congress was peaceful and successful, to facilitate the conduct of the state congress.
He expressed appreciation to the National Headquarters of the party and Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State for resolving the internal problems of the party in the state.
The chairman said the APC was working toward ensuring that “only the most positive things are achieved in the party and the country”.
He said the state congress organising committee would soon release the results of the ward congresses conducted earlier.
