Katsina - The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sani Aliyu Danlam has won the bye election for the Katsina Federal Constituency seat into the House of Representatives, reports National Mirror.
The election was held on Saturday.

Prof. Shehu Muhammad, the Independent National Electoral Commission (NEC) Returning Officer, who announced the results said Danlami won the election by scoring 21 480 votes to defeat his closest rival Muntari Kabir of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 5 890.
The National Conscience Party (NCP) candidate, Ahmed Shehu Sani got 179 votes.
Out of the 208 384 registered voters for the exercise, only 33 428 were accredited to vote in the election.
The exercise was held following the death of lawmaker occupying the position, Hon Sheik Umar, several weeks ago.
