APGA endorses Jonathan as presidential candidate

21 November 2014, 15:09

Abuja - The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has adopted President Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate for the 2015 election, reports Thisday.

By its action, the party has now repeated what it did in the 2011 presidential election when it endorsed President Jonathan and openly campaigned for his election.

The party at the end of its National Working Committee (NWC) on Thursday mandated its members to campaign for President Jonathan’s re-election.

The party in a statement jointly signed by APGA’s National Chairman, Victor Umeh and National Secretary, Sani Shinkafi, said it had also ratified the appointment of the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano as the new national leader of the party as well as the Chairman of Board of Trustees (BoT).

The NWC also suspended the Abia State Chairman of the party, Nnanna Ukaegbu from the party with immediate effect for what it termed palpable anti-party activities.
