Abia ACN holds congress in September

13 August 2012, 09:35

Abia -  The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) will hold its state congress in Abia in September, Mr Miriki Ebikibina, Secretary, ACN Congress Committee in the state, has said.

Ebikibina, who is also the national youth leader of the party, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Umuahia.

``Our committee has concluded plans to conduct the congresses at various levels in the state.

``The ward congress will take place on Aug. 30;  local government congress will be on Aug. 31 while the state congress will be held on Sept. 1, ‘’ he said.

He said that the state congress became necessary following the growing popularity of the party in the state.

Ebikibina said that the party had witnessed influx of members from other parties in recent times.

He said that the ACN was poised to replicate its development strides in Abia, and urged the people to keep fate with the party.

Mr Paul Ikonne, ACN governorship candidate in the 2011 general elections, described as unprecedented the growing number of people joining the party.
