Abuja - Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has warned his followers on social media to desist from posting on the so-called #bringbackAtiku and other variations of the “bring back” hashtag.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) politician said such campaigns were inconsiderate.
“I have seen a few followers on social media posting #bringbackAtiku and other variations of the “bring back” hashtag. This is very insensitive and wrong. Please stop this hashtag immediately,” Abubakar said on Tuesday.

His dissuasion comes days after President Goodluck Jonathan recently directed that the #Bring Back Jonathan 2015 signs and banners around Abuja, which he and many Nigerians find “offensive and repugnant”, be brought down.
The “bring back” hashtag is built on a campaign to rescue the more than 200 schoolgirls that the Boko Haram terror group abducted earlier this year.
Their whereabouts remain a mystery.
