Adamawa PDP crisis a communication breakdown - Nyako

25 October 2012, 09:30

Yola - Gov. Murtala Nyako of Adamawa has blamed the ongoing PDP leadership crisis in the state on a communication breakdown.
Nyako told newsmen in Yola Airport on  Wednesday that  in spite of the hitch, the party was intact.

"We are in a very good shape," he said. "The PDP in Adamawa is intact and we intend to remain intact in spite of the challenges".
The governor noted that the PDP in the state conducted  a special congress to beat October 15 dateline given to political parties to submit names of their candidates for the  local government polls.

It will be recalled that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP dissolved the  Adamawa executive for conducting the party congress and putting in place a caretaker committee.

The NWC's decision was, however, challenged by Alhaji Umaru Kugama, in court for failure to give the dissolved committee a fair hearing.

The High Court restrained the NWC from dissolving Adamawa executive of the party pending the determination of the case.

The case was adjourned to October 31, for hearing.
