Yola - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been officially notified by the Adamawa State Assembly that the governorship seat in the state is vacant.
The House has, therefore, mandated the Commission to make necessary arrangements to fill the vacuum created by the impeachment of former Governor Murtala Nyako, reports Peoples Daily.
Adamu Kamale, House Committee Chairman on Information, said the decision is keeping with the Constitution, which requires the House to inform the electoral body.
He debuncked claims by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the lawmakers impeached Nyako because of his failure to release statutory constituency project monies as demanded by the lawmakers.
