Kwara - Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara has described PDP’s overwhelming victory in Saturday’s re-run election in the state as a challenge to do more.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin after the announcement of the result at the Government House on Sunday, the governor said the victory signified a vote of confidence in his administration.
He said Alhaji Abdulfattah Babkini’s election in the Ilorin North-West Constituency rerun election in Oloje and Alanamu wards was ``a testimony that we are doing well’’.
``The victory was not just an overwhelming vote of confidence in the government and leadership of the PDP in the state, but a challenge to do more for the good people of the state.''
He assured the people of the state of the resolve of his administration to continue to deliver purposeful leadership, and promised to continue to build on the successes recorded in the last eight years.
Ahmed congratulated the leader of the party in the state, Bukola Saraki, and Babkini on the victory.
He urged the opposition in the state to join hands with his administration in its shared prosperity programme to take the state to the next level.
