Ibadan - The Oyo State governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Ibadan, the state capital, on Tuesday upheld the election of Abiola Ajimobi as the governor of Oyo State, Nation reports.
The tribunal in its ruling dismissed the petition of the governorship candidate of the Accord Party in the election, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, saying it lacked merit.
The judgment was read for four and half hours by the Chairman of the three-man panel, Justice Mohammed Mayaki.

Justice Mayaki in his ruling said the petitioner woefully failed to establish its claims that the election was marred by irregularities and violence.
