23 September 2015, 19:20

Yenogoa - Former chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is set to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Labour Party (LP) in his bid to contest the December 5 Bayelsa gubernatorial election, reports NewsDay.

His decision to dump the APC follows the controversies that trailed Tuesday’s gubernatorial primary of the party.

Alaibe was defeated by a former governor of the state, Timipre Sylva.

He was said to have complained bitterly about the process of the election which was marred by violence and irregularities.

Alaibe has called for cancellation of the election and conduct a fresh one as the only way forward.

He has vowed to look elsewhere where he could possibly realize his governorship ambition if the APC leadership fails to look into his complaints.

Alaibe once had a relationship with the LP on which platform he tried unsuccessfully to run in 2003.
