Rivers- Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has explained why he decided to dump the ruling People's Democratic Party, PDP for the opposition party, the All Progressive Congress, APC, Daily Post reports.
Amaechi, who was elected as governor under the PDP platform, said he had no choice than to decamp to APC because of the irreconcilable differences between the breakaway governors (G-7) and the PDP.
He also said he took the decision because his state has been neglected by the President Jonathan-led administration in terms of execution of federal projects.
Amaechi and four other governors announced their defection to APC on Tuesday.
