Abuja - The Gov. Rotimi Amaechi faction of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), on Wednesday in Abuja held an hour meeting at the Rivers Governor’s lodge, Asokoro with 15 governors in attendance.
The governors, who immediately left for the Presidential Villa to attend a dinner organised by President Goodluck Jonathan, declined comment on what they discussed at the meeting.
Other governors in attendance were those of Jigawa, Kano, Sokoto, Niger, Adamawa, Ogun and Lagos states.
Governors of Edo, Osun, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Borno, Imo and Zamfara also attended the closed-door meeting.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), recalls that on May 24, Amaechi was re-elected chairman of NGF with 19 votes while Gov. Jonah Jang of Plateau scored 16 votes.
NAN also reports that Jang's loyalists inaugurated him as the authentic chairman of the NGF.
