Port Harcourt - Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers Sate has lost out in the race for the All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential position, reports NewsDay.
The party has zoned the position to the South -west in view of the zone’s crucial importance in the plan to win the 2015 elections convincingly.
Amaechi, who had been identified as a possible candidate for the VP post, was dropped after the party discovered that a vice presidential candidate from the South-south may not excite Southwest voters enough to enable the APC to win the region.

Amaechi is, however, likely to emerge as the director general of Muhammad Buhari’s presidential campaign if the former military head of state is selected as the presidential flag bearer of the APC on December 10.
