Adamawa - Former Accountant General of Lagos, Akin Ambode, has officially declared his intention to contest for the governorship office in the state.
Ambode declared his aspiration before thousands of supporters and All Progressive Congress (APC) members.
He promised to continue the good work done by the present administration and further transform Lagos to be the state that everyone would be proud of.
Ambode said he would build a new level of leadership that would eradicate poverty in Lagos State.
Other top contenders within the APC for the Lagos top job are current Senator representing Lagos West at the Senate, Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, the Legal Adviser of APC, Dr Muiz Banire, the Senator representing Lagos East, Gbenga Ashafa, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the Commissioner for Works, Dr Obafemi Kadiri Hamzat, a Commissioner for Agriculture and Co-operatives, Prince Gbolahan Lawal, and former Commissioner for Education, Leke Pitan.
