Awka - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State are currently at loggerheads over the financial accounts of local governments in the state, reports Channels TV.
The PDP is asking the APGA- led government in the state to make public, the statement of account showing income and expenditure of the 21 Local Government councils of the state.

Ken Emeakayi, Chairman of the PDP in the state, accused the administration of Governor Willie Obiano of usurping the administrative functions of the Local Government by channeling monies meant for the councils to the state.
In response, the state’s Publicity Secretary of APGA, Chinedu Nkwonta, maintained the governor has shown a high level of prudence in the management of the resources of the state.
He stated that the relationship between the state and local government remains very cordial.
