Anger in Kogi APC over choice of Audu’s running mate

11 September 2015, 14:05

Lokoja - Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have rejected the choice of Abiodun Faleke as the running mate to the governorship candidate of the party for the November 21 governorship election in the state, Abubakar Audu, reports Daily Post.

Faleke, though an indigene of Kogi State, has always played his politics in Lagos.

Faleke is currently a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency of Lagos State.

He was also a two term chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area of the state.

The aggrieved members are angry over Faleke’s choice, hinging their disapproval on the fact that he is not known in Kogi political circles and do not have a political base in the state.

They are angry that Audu decided to sideline those who contributed to the growth of the party in the state.

The aggrieved members are also pained  that the age- long zoning formular of sharing political position has been jettisoned with the selection of Faleke.

They noted that it has ever happened in the history of Kogi West for two high ranking political office to come from the same local government, as it is likely to happen if Audu sticks to Faleke as his running mate.

Senator Dino Melaye and Faleke are from both the same local government- Ijumu Local Government.
