The governor also commended Tukur for his dedicated, selfless and committed services to the ruling party and the nation in general.

He described former PDP National Chairman as a faithful and progressive party man, who has at various times jettisoned selfish motives and worked diligently for the overall benefit and progressive of the PDP and the country.

According to him, in every circumstance and situation, the elder statesman had demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the PDP and always placed it above every other consideration.

“It is a thing of joy that, as a political party, we have people like him, whose maturity and loyalty to the party has continued to endure over the years and as a person and as a State, we are very proud of him and our prayer is that, God Almighty continue to grant him good health and wisdom to continually render quality service the nation, even as Chairman of the Nigerian Railway Corporation.”
