Yenagoa - Some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State on Tuesday met in Yenagoa, the state capital, to deliberate on how to unite contending forces within the party, reports Leadership.

The meeting was convened to form a solid force against anti-PDP forces ahead of the governorship election in the state.

The leaders present at the meeting agreed to form a political group, christened PDP Integrity group.

The new group, according to the party leaders, was set up to unite the leaders of the party and put an end to cases of defections recently witnessed within the rank and file of the party in the state.

Notable members of the PDP Integrity group are a one-time State PDP Chairman and former Commissioner for Local Government, James Dugo; the National Coordinator, Ferdison Agada; former state Assembly aspirant and Director of Media and Publicity, Kingdom Blessing; Director of Women Mobilisation,  Julie Okenarhe; Director of Organization, Embiowe Tonworitimi and Director of Finance, Timi Gbendo.
