Buhari drops another ministerial nominee

20 October 2015, 11:06

Abuja - There are strong indications that President Muhammadu Buhari has withdrawn the ministerial nomination of Barrister Adebayo Shittu as the nominee from Oyo State, reports Vanguard.

He has replaced him with Adewole Isaac Folorunsho.

Senate President Bukola Saraki is expected to read a letter from President Buhari replacing Shittu with Folorunsho on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday.

Shittu would have been screened on Thursday but his screening was deferred till Tuesday probably for lack of time.

His nomination has been rejected by some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.

Shittu would be the second nominee to be dropped. Buhari had previously withdrawn the name of immediate past Deputy Governor of Niger State, Ahmed Musa Ibeto from the list of ministerial nominees.
