Buhari to announce running mate on Wednesday

Lagos - The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari will on Wednesday finally laid to rest the issue of who is running mate would be in the 2015 election, reports Punch.

Buhari is expected to address a press conference where he would announce his running-mate for the election.

John Odigie-Oyegun,  National Chairman of the party, who made this known on Tuesday, said the party had reached an agreement on who will be Buhari’s running mate.

On the list are Governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo) and a former Lagos State Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Others whose names came up were former governors Dr. Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti State), former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola (Osun State), Senator Olorunnmbe Mamora and former governor Adeniyi Adebayo (Ekiti State).

All political parties have till the end of Wednesday to submit the name of candidates vying for various political offices to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
