Lagos - Elections into the 20 Local Governments (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State may not hold in October as earlier scheduled, reports ThisDay.
Fatai Adeyinka, Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), said the government has not acted on the commission’s recommendations towards a successful local government polls.

Adeyinka, who disclosed while briefing the states House of Assembly members on the preparedness of the commission ahead of the election, listed some of the recommendations to include creation of more voting wards across the state and updating of the existing voters register.
He noted that the current voters register has not be updated and could not be used for the election.
