Port Harcourt - A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Thursday nullified the election of the 22 Local Government Area (LGA) council Chairmen and Councilors in Rivers State, reports PM News.
All the Chairmen and Councilors are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The court in its ruling described the election that produced the Chairmen and Councilors as illegal and an affront on the court because the matter was pending in court.

The presiding judge, Justice Lambo Akambi, said the state government was directed not to go ahead with the election but the order of court was fragrantly disobeyed.
The LG election was held during the administration of the immediate past governor of the state, Chibuike Amaechi.
