Bauchi - Rabi’u Danbaba has won the APC chairmanship contest in Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Danbaba scored 229 votes out of the 372 accredited votes cast by the delegates from 12 wards.
The APC conducted local government congress in 20 councils in Bauchi state on Thursday amidst tight security.
The Chairman of the Congress Electoral Committee, Muhammed Gamawa, declared Danbaba winner with 229 votes while Ado Garba scored 142 votes, and Sadisu Umar had no vote.
Gamawa said he was happy with how the delegates conducted themselves during the election.
Gamawa said the election was generally peaceful and hoped that the state congress which would be held on Saturday would also be peaceful.
Toro and Shira local governments’ delegates elected their officials through consensus.
Reports from Gamawa, Toro, Shira, Darazo, Bogoro, Alkaleri and Dambam local councils said the congress was peaceful.
