Dankwambo gets Gombe nomination

07 June 2013, 12:11Augustine Osayande

Abuja – In an unprecedented development, Gombe Governor, Alhaji Dankwambo, will contest for another term after the House of Assembly endorsed him for re-election for the poll in 2015.

Speaker of the House, Inuwa Garba, however confirmed Dankwambo’s nomination saying the decision was taken after the submission of reports by the 24 committees of the House after examining the performance of Dankwambo during his current term.

The committees were satisfied by the progress the state has made under Dankwambo’s leadership.

Dankwambo, from the ruling People’s Democratic Party, was elected in 2011.

Defending the nomination, Garba stated this was based on merit.

“The House is ready to defend its action,” he said.

Dankwambo welcomed the nomination’s vote of confidence in his administration.

“The achievements could not have been recorded without the support and co-operation of the legislature,” he said.

He urged all arms of government to ensure the harmonious working relationship continued. –CAJ News
