Delta Assembly confirms five more commissioners, board members

Asaba - The Delta House of Assembly on Tuesday in Asaba screened and confirmed the nomination of five more commissioners sent to the House by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The screening was presided over by the Speaker, Monday Igbuya.

The five nominees: are Peter Mrakpor, Dr Nicholas Azinge, Ernest Ogwezzy, Bright Edejewhro and Oghenekaro Ilolo.

With Tuesday’s confirmation, the House had screened and confirmed a total of 20 commissioner nominees.

The governor sent a list of his nominees to the Assembly on September 8.

Also on Tuesday, the Assembly screened and confirmed the appointment of Frank Enekorogha as the Director-General of the State Direct Labour Agency (DLA).

Others screened and confirmed as directors of the agency are Smert Meka, Blessing Enamuotor and Austin Bebteidor.

The motion for the confirmation of the nominees was moved by the Majority Leader Tim Owhefere and seconded by Daniel Yingi, representing Burutu 1 constituency.
