Benin City - The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been engulfed in a fresh crisis over the alleged zoning of elective offices ahead of 2015 general election.
The development has caused disaffection among party members, some of whom have threatened to leave the party, if it does not to provide a level playing field for all aspirants, reports The Nation.
Among those who have threatened to dump the party are three lawmakers who are seeking re-election after the expiration of their second term at the National Assembly.
The new zoning arrangement did not favour the three lawmakers as their offices have been zoned to other areas within their senatorial districts
The lawmakers are Senator Odion Ugbesia, Patrick Ikhariale and Friday Itulah.
