Edo PDP welcomes poll tribunal ruling

18 September 2015, 14:06

Edo - The Edo State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has commended the state election petition tribunal for dismissing the petition of Samson Osagie.

The politician was protesting the election of Matthew Urhoghide, the senator representing Edo South Senatorial district.

PDP State Chairman, Dan Osi Orbih, said the tribunal ruling was a further confirmation people of Edo State rejected the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Governor Adams Oshiomhole's government.

"It also shows that they have been rejected by the law as well," he said.

“We are very pleased to receive the verdict of the National Assembly Election Petition tribunal."

The party also thanks all Edo people for their support during the last election.

“We implore Edo people to remain patient in the face of the obnoxious policies of this government,"Orbihi said.

"We ask the patient and peace loving people of Edo state to remain calm as the election for governor of Edo state is around the corner. Only PDP can deliver real change in Edo State,” Orbih added.

The party promised to implement a clear plan to turn the state economy around and give the people the best chance of success when elected in 2016.
