Port Harcourt - Eight persons were shot and injured after supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) clashed in Rumueprikom community of Rivers State.
The clash prevented the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, from visiting the community on Wednesday in continuation of his meet-the-people tour of the 23 local government areas in the state, reports ThisDay.
Gunshots fired by the warring groups resulted in an immediate closure of businesses in the area, which incidentally is the hometown of the Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike.
