Ekiti - The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Ekiti has summoned members of the National Assembly from the state elected on the platform of the party to give account of their stewardship.
The Chairman of the party, Jide Awe, announced this at a press briefing in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.
He said Gov. Kayode Fayemi's performance needed to be complemented by the federal legislators to accelerate the development of the state.
``This is not to say all of them are not working, we know those that are working and those who are not, I refrain from mentioning names here because we feel people can still make amends.
``For the purpose of clarification, this is not a recall but a mere invitation. You cannot claim to be facing national matters in Abuja while you have deficit at home.''
He said the lawmakers should come and explain to the party how far they had affected the lives of people in their respective constituencies since they were elected.
``We are trying to avoid a situation whereby elected political office holders will come back to the electorate only at the tail end of their tenure."
He stressed the need to avert any situation capable of plunging the country into anarchy owing to the activities of some misguided Nigerians bent on heating up the polity.
Awe said Nigerians should be allowed to hold a national conference to iron out their differences on definite terms.
