Ado Ekiti - The Ekiti State government has denied reports that the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Olawale Omirin was impeached on Monday, reports Vanguard.
Idowu Adelusi, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, said what transpired on the floor of the House was that nine members met and approved the appointment of local government caretaker committee members.

He said the House also confirmed the appointment of three commissioners and empowered the governor to appoint 12 Special Assistants.
He noted that the action of the nine lawmakers is within the law as the House standing order allows a quorum of 9 members to sit and appoint speaker plenipotentiary to preside.
