Ekiti State Speaker removed

Ado Ekiti  Few hours after denying reports that they have impeached  the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adewale Omirin, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in the House on Thursday removed Omirin., reports Channels TV.

The seven PDP lawmakers equally impeached the Deputy Speaker.

They were replaced with Hon. Dele Olugbemi from Ikole Local Government Area and Hon. Abeni Olayinka from Ado Local Government Area as speaker and deputy speaker respectively.

Thursday's impeachment of Omirin was carried out in the same way the seven PDP legislators sat to approve the commissioner nominees and local government caretaker committees sent to the House by Governor Ayodele Fayose on Monday.

The 19 lawmakers belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC) were in Lagos for a press conference as at the time the impeachment was done.
