Ekiti assembly passes vote of confidence on Governor Fayemi

11 December 2013, 08:45

Ado-Ekiti - Members of Ekiti House of Assembly on Tuesday passed a vote of confidence on Governor Kayode Fayemi and recommended him for second term.

The house took the decision due to the governor’s “exemplary performance”.

The Majority Leader, Churchill Adedipe, moved the motion which was seconded by Segun Erinle, representing Ilejemeje constituency.

The lawmakers, while contributing to the motion, said that Fayemi had satisfactorily delivered on his election mandate.

They explained that 90 per cent of what the governor promised over 300 communities in terms of provision of basic infrastructure, social life and improvement of environment, had been fulfilled.

The Speaker, Dr Adewale Omirin, said: “I believe it is the overwhelming thinking of majority of members that since one good turn deserves another, the governor should be made to continue in office to complete his good works.”

Omirin said that if the governor was given a second chance, “Ekiti would be better for it.”
