Ado-Ekiti - The Ekiti Government has declared Friday a work-free day for all civil servants in the state.
The government said in a statement on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti that the holiday to enable workers obtain permanent voter card from INEC.
The governorship election in the state would hold on June 21.
The statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Tayo Ekundayo, said that verification of voters register would hold between Friday and Sunday.
It explained that the holiday had also become necessary because Governor Kayode Fayemi attached great importance to the sanctity of the electoral process.
The statement urged all residents of voting age to ensure they all obtained their permanent voter card so as to enable them participate in the electoral process.
